Folk art created by the Lorenzo Family in Mexico. Four generations of the family paint, hence why they are signed with different names! We buy them from the Grandson, Fernando Lorenzo. These are original paintings inspired by the tradition of retablo painting, which tell a multitude of stories. In the Dia de los muertos series, the family take inspiration from the day of the dead tradition which is routed in Aztec customs, where they viewed death as the begin of the cycle of seasons and life. These days as well as the crazy festival of Oaxaca and Mexico city, it is tradition on the 1st and 2nd November to honour and remember your loved ones that have passed, with your family, a feast of the deceased favourite foods, at home or by the grave side.
