Designed and threaded here at Blackout. We get so much joy from assembling a mixture of antique pieces together from places worlds apart. It makes for a totally unique collection of jewellery which allows for an examination of process and techniques from different cultures.
This collection focuses on antique glass beads made in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic for trade in Africa. We have mixed them with mostly Indian but also some Mauritanian antique silver beads.
Tribal antique silver traditionally has no hallmarks, but all that we sell have an 80-90% content, as these pieces would have been historically made from old melted down jewellery and coins.
