Marvellous Mexican Milagros. Butterflies are symbolic as the souls of departed ancestors, monarch butterflies arrive in huge flocks to the fir forests in central Mexico near to the Day of the Dead , and are viewed as winged messengers. The Aztecs saw them as the embodiment of the spirits of brave warriors and women who had died in childbirth. Bright and beautiful, we have paired them with some ladybirds(good luck and fortune) and snails (symbolic of eternity with the spiral shell) too!!
Thesemilagros have been made by the artisans in Oaxaca to depict all the flora and fauna of Mexico.
